Thomas Reynolds
Thomas A. Reynolds III is a distinguished attorney and partner at Winston & Strawn LLP, a prominent international law firm with a strong presence in 12 offices worldwide. Reynolds recently stepped down from the firm’s executive committee after serving in a senior management role for 12 years.
Prior to joining Winston & Strawn, Reynolds completed his undergraduate studies at Georgetown University, earning a B.S. in Business Administration in 1974. He went on to receive his J.D. from Emory University in 1977. He then held the position of assistant attorney general for the state of Illinois, where he focused on commercial, securities, and antitrust litigation. Throughout his career, he has represented high-profile companies in significant cases and administrative proceedings across the country.
Beyond his legal practice, Reynolds has dedicated himself to various civic leadership positions. As a 1974 graduate of Georgetown University, he has been an active member of the university’s board of directors since 1997. Additionally, Reynolds serves as a trustee and vice chair of the board for the University of Chicago Medical Center and the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. His commitment to education is evident through his election to the University of Chicago Board of Trustees. Reynolds and his wife, Hope, actively participate in philanthropic endeavors such as the Big Shoulders Fund and LINK Unlimited, organizations focused on providing financial support and mentoring to inner-city students in Chicago.
Within the Emory University community, Reynolds plays a vital role as an executive committee member of the Emory Law Advisory Board. He has been instrumental in organizing and hosting several alumni events in Chicago, fostering connections and engagement among Emory Law School alumni. Reynolds was recognized for his exceptional achievements and contributions to the legal profession with the Emory Law Distinguished Alumni Award in 2009.
