Sonia Sharma 93C and Dev B. Kapadia were inspired to create a scholarship for South Asians and named it in memory of Abinta Kabir and Faraaz Hossain for their courage, strength and compassion for others. Kabir and Hossain were victims of the terrorist attack in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on July 1, 2016. Faraaz Hossain was given the option of leaving by the terrorists who attacked the Holey Artisan Bakery in Dhaka where the attack occurred, but he decided to stay to protect his friends.
