Sol I. Golden, a highly regarded attorney and expert in innovative corporate financing, left an indelible mark on the legal profession through his exceptional skills and contributions.

Golden’s legal career spanned over fifty years, during which he demonstrated unwavering commitment to excellence. He obtained his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Emory University School of Law in 1926, where he was awarded the Samuel C. Williams Medal as the top student in his graduating class. This early recognition foreshadowed the exceptional achievements that would mark his legal journey.

Throughout his illustrious career, Golden pioneered innovative financing techniques that revolutionized corporate practices. His expertise became invaluable to numerous organizations seeking his guidance. Notable among his clients were Sysco Corporation, the largest institutional food distributor in the U.S., National Linen Services (now National Service Industries), Friedman’s Jewelers, Rich Products Corporation, and Capital Foods. Through his legal advice, these organizations flourished and thrived.

In 1949, Golden joined forces with Ellis G. Arnall and Cleburne Gregory, Jr. to establish the prestigious law firm of Arnall, Golden& Gregory, LLP. However, Golden’s contributions extended beyond his legal practice. He was an active member of esteemed legal societies such as the American Judicature Society, the American Bar Association, the Georgia Bar Association, and the Atlanta Bar Association. His involvement in the Atlanta Lawyers Club further demonstrated his dedication to the legal community.

Recognized as a distinguished alumnus of Emory University School of Law, Golden received the prestigious Distinguished Alumnus Award in 1987. In 1986, he was honored with an appointment as an honorary member of Emory’s Order of the Coif, an elite distinction awarded to only a select few.

Beyond his professional achievements, Golden exemplified a commitment to philanthropy and community engagement. He served as the Chairman of the Board of the Livingston Foundation ,a philanthropic organization, and held a directorship at A.R.Abrams, Inc. Golden passed away in October 1989.
