Katherine Rohrer
Dr. Katherine T. Rohrer established the Rohrer Family Endowment, which supports need-based financial aid for Emory College students, in 2013. The endowment honors the many members of her family who graduated from Emory, including both parents, three siblings, and multiple uncles. Kathy says, “I established this scholarship fund in gratitude for the financial aid that supported my undergraduate education and that of my two brothers and my sister. I am so happy now to be able to provide the same kind of assistance for Emory students today and into the future.” Kathy graduated with highest honors in music at Emory University and earned a PhD in musicology at Princeton University, where she held both Danforth and Fulbright fellowships. Before beginning her career in university administration, she taught as a full-time faculty member at Princeton and Columbia. On her 2015 retirement from her role as Vice Provost for Academic Programs at Princeton University she was granted the title vice provost emeritus by the Princeton Board of Trustees. She remains engaged at Emory as a member of the Board of Trustees, where she chairs the Academic Affairs Committee and serves on the Executive Committee and the Finance Committee. She is a past member of the Emory Alumni Board, where she helped to found the EAB Leadership Scholarship.
