Friends of William W. Lemonds
Friends of William W. Lemonds established the William Lemonds Music Fund in honor of William W. Lemonds (1923-1994) who was a professor and chair in the Department of Music at Emory University. Lemonds joined the Emory faculty in 1963 and during his tenure served as director of Glee Club, Women’s Chorale, Chamber Singers, Collegium Musicum, and the Atlanta-Emory Orchestra. Lemonds was also involved with the Emory Bach Festival, Emory Festival of Music, and Summer Music Festival. Combining his love of music and travel, Lemonds led annual tours of students around the country and organized a friendship tour to Romania in 1976.
