Amelia T. Rudolph
Amelia Toy Rudolph is a highly accomplished attorney specializing in complex business litigation and government investigations, with a focus on accounting and financial matters. She serves as the Deputy Practice Group Leader of Eversheds Sutherland’s US Litigation Group and co-leads both the US and global Professional Liability practices. With extensive experience in state and federal trial and appellate cases, Rudolph has successfully handled jury trials, bench trials, and arbitrations, making her a standout in the field of business litigation.
Throughout her career, Rudolph has demonstrated a strong commitment to sharing her knowledge and insights. She frequently publishes articles and speaks at professional conferences on topics related to complex business litigation and professional liability. She co-chaired the American Bar Association (ABA) Professional Liability Litigation Committee from 2017 to 2020 and has co-authored chapters on accountants’ liability law for a forthcoming 50-state treatise.
In addition to her legal accomplishments, Rudolph is actively involved in her community. She serves as a member of the Tocqueville Society Cabinet of United Way of Greater Atlanta and holds the position of President of the Board of Directors of the Georgia Appellate Practice &Educational Resource Center. This nonprofit organization provides probono capital habeas assistance to inmates on Georgia’s death row.
Rudolph’s connection with Emory University runs deep. She graduated with honors from Emory College in 1988, earning a B.A. in Economics and French as a Woodruff Scholar. She continued her academic journey at Emory Law School, where she obtained her J.D. with distinction in 1991, also as a Woodruff Scholar. Her dedication to Emory extends beyond her educational achievements. Rudolph has served on various boards and committees, including the Emory College Alumni Board, Emory Law Advisory Board, Emory Law School Council, Association of Emory Alumni Board of Governors, and Emory Law Alumni Executive Committee. She currently chairs the Emory Law Journal Board of Consultants and contributes as a member of Emory’s Capital Campaign Committee. Rudolph’s commitment to her alma mater is further reflected in her establishment of the Toy Family College Scholarship, giving back to the institution that supported her and previous generations of the Toy family.
