Georgia Chapter of A&WMA Scholarship

The Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan professional organization that provides training, information, and networking opportunities to 9,000 environmental professionals in 65 countries. The Association’s goals are to strengthen the environmental profession, expand scientific and technological responses to environmental concerns, and assist professionals in critical environmental decision making to benefit society.
The A&WMA–Georgia Chapter is composed of environmental professionals throughout the state. As Co-Chairs of the Education Committee, we would like to share a scholarship opportunity with you.
The Georgia Chapter will award up to two graduate student scholarships of at least $1,000 each during our December Brown Bag Event, the specific date to be determined. We will award the scholarships to graduate students conducting research on topics related to air quality, waste management, pollution prevention, environmental policy/compliance/law, sustainability, or a related topic. The scholarship recipients will also be awarded a complimentary one-year student level membership to the national A&WMA.
Interested graduate students must submit a brief abstract describing their research no later than Tuesday, November 1, 2022. The recipients will be recognized during our December Brown Bag Event and will have an opportunity to make a brief presentation describing their research. The scholarships will be awarded ahead of the brown bag in coordination with the GA AWMA Treasurer and recipient.
